Using The Bacon Framework to Save USAID 🇺🇸

I can't get over the cuts Elon Musk was allowed by Trump to make to USAID: United States Agency for International Development.

So angry in fact that I can't get over it! 😡

I had to figure out how I could find a solution to this upset. So here is my plan. 

It's insane, I admit that, but no more insane than letting 14 million people, including 4 million children, die by 2030 from preventable causes.

I used the Bacon Framework to create the plan to get USAID funding reestablished. And here's the thing, it's not just the money, it's the logistics and knowhow that has helped these programs save 90 million lives in the last 2 decades.

The Bacon Framework

My bestie, Vickie, created a concept called the Circles of Gold. The basic idea is that you already know all the people it will take to reach a goal. When we reach out to those we know they usually know someone, who knows someone, that can help us get to a connection we need. 

It always reminded me of the 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon. You know, how anyone famous is within six degrees of separation from one of our most beloved stars.   

I had come across this shocking but eventually inspiring story of how P0rnhub removed 80% of it's content because of a NYT article about child and nonconsensual abuse and how it had touched a billionaire and within a handful of people a huge change was made in a nearly impossible to affect industry.

I was so inspired by the story that I took what had only been a drinking game in my past (sorry Kevin 😬) to create this new framework.

Little known fact about me... 👩‍⚕️ but I served as Dr. Oz's 1st assistant on stage when Harpo Studios was doing test-runs of the Dr. Oz Show. So of course I felt called to put my gloves and white coat on and dive in to help him solve this mystery of why we are under-babied and how we can change that if Trump and his team wanted to.

I woke up to the new year both excited and exhausted. As I normally do, I was contemplating what I wanted to bring into 2026 🤔

Well the two things I can't stop thinking about are how the world is doing both politically and economically and how AI will affect both. I'm also trying to practice detachment to things I can't control because frankly all this chaos is making my nerves a bit crispy. 

So my solution is to use my writing and visual skills to express myself by posting AI Covers.

Basically, I am going to spend the next year using magazine covers as snapshots of conversations I believe these publications should be fostering with our leaders and fellow citizens. You might ask why in a time of digital communication (videos & podcasts) am I focused on this? Well because covers of magazines are the pre-meme original way to draw the masses attention to a topic. They shaped my ideas when I was young and I think they and the articles that accompany them are very important. 

I will be tagging these magazines on social media so that it is clear I am the creator in case the ideas spread and also I want to be upfront these covers are not real but AI/Joy-generated from the ideas I want to write about. My hope is to foster conversations about the various ways AI will be affecting every industry and our world. 

Which leads me back to the origins of this blog: Good Capitalism. 

We are living through the most exciting times of existence. I'm so thrilled to be alive to see it! AND... we have not shown we are very good stewards of each other and our planet so I can't sit by and do nothing. This is me shouting into the void that is our Universe and hoping my voice can be heard. What the hell might as well give it a go 😜 before we are taken over 🤖
